Way to go Matt!

So the Iron Horse Classic was this last weekend. It is a famous race where cyclists from all over come to race in Durango. The hometown favorite Matt Shriver took top honors with the overall win.

It was great to actually cheer Matt on in a race. Of course, I can never attend his races as he travels the country. When he's here; I wouldn't miss it.

I have included a video I took of him before the race. I told him to give me his best "Anchorman" impression, but he opted for the serious approach.

Dang; all this work around the house sure ain't easy.

As you can see, some of the hired help just stand around and wait for you to throw a tennis ball...all day long!

These are the river rocks that were placed into the back yard to make a retaining wall. It took two dump trucks to drop all of these on my front lawn, and then a skid-steer to place them in the back yard. What a mess! If you can picture the place in the long run (like I can), then you will see
my plan.
(inner voice narration)Breath in, breath out, for you must have the patience of a buddhist monk to see this one through.

Remodel Part 1

As you may know by now, I have had a contractor out here building a retaining wall in the back yard. The front lawn is torn apart from construction equipment driving over it.

I will have this project partially completed in a few weeks. I am still waiting for my flagstone
path to be finished. Take a look at my heart-ache.

If you ride...

Than you know what this picture is all about. Moab is unforgiving. When the sand kicks up, you better be ready. That is sand on my teeth! It was windy, and it does not help that we were hauling a$$ down a sick trail.

He is another pick (on the left) of me over the edge on the Slickrock trail. It is hard to tell, but this place is steep. If you fall, good luck finding a soft spot. It is ALL jagged rock.
