Life of Riley...

After a long day of sleeping and crapping on my lawn, the emperor likes to mount his fur covered thrown and sit by the fire.

Oh, don't bother trying to pet him or receive any affection, for he is in a deep meditative state of mind. He will let out a slight groan, and roll onto his side.

It must be a rough life!

So if you are in Telluride, this is what you see when you get off of the lift, facing the backside. I am not sure of the name of this one, but you will know it when you see it. This picture was taken in Telluride, Colorado. If you look close, you can see the mountain range in the background that is in Utah. Over 100 miles away!

The snow out here is starting to melt, but not fast enough. I think most of us have cabin fever. I want to go somewhere warm and tropical right now. Instead, we are going to Alta, UT next weekend. Yep, a place with even MORE snow than Durango!

I know, I know, but when ski season is here, you just gotta get through the shoveling and get on with the skiing.

I am planning on going to the windy city this summer. I don't want o\to be out walking the downtown strip again in multiple layers.

The thirties

Chanda had a surprise 30th yesterday, and it went great. We got home from the store and she had her arms full of groceries, when she opened the door; surprise! She dropped the groceries and ran out the door. It was pretty funny.

A bunch of people came over and we had a lot of food and good times. Chanda was real happy with the party and very thankful to all that were there.

Then, when we woke up this morning, we found Cooper on the roof. He is so depressed that all the snow is melting from the roof. He was just standing there on his iceberg, like a lost polar bear. He was confused and did not remember how to get back down. We had to laugh and photo him in his most vulnerable moment.

The photo below is of the table with Kelly (the host) and Sahara (red jacket) in the background . I will add some photos of the birthday girl later

You don't know snow like we know snow

So this is what snow in Durango looks like in 2008. Cooper can run from the front yard to the back yard; OVER THE HOUSE! I was sitting in my chair, watching TV when I could hear him galloping from one end of the house to the other, keeping a close guard on the neighborhood dogs.

I am through shoveling. I stopped a guy with a front loader and paid him to dig out a parking spot for me in front of the house. What would have taken me 5 hours to do, took him all of 2 minutes.

This was one epic weekend to ski. I was up to my waist in powder. If you ever ski powder, then you know how eerie it is to be traveling 20mph down a mountain side, with half your body under ground!
