MY FIRST HOUSE

Picture of the entrance and the big TV that they are going to leave for us Woohoo!

T
he time has finally arrived for me to be a homeowner. I am not sure how I will be able to afford all of this, but I have got to try. The house I am buying is about 18 miles to work. So that means around 40 miles round trip to work and the Rec Center every day. I am NOT happy about the commute. I am happy that I am going to own some sticks and dirt in the southwest!

Chanda had a friend offer us a nice bed frame. I am excited to finally live in the same house with her and Cooper. Cooper! That goof ball is gonna have quite the big yard to run loose in. I am just hoping that he will leave me a section free from his ill wills, and...Stay out of our garden!

Yes, we both know that we are going to be up to our necks in projects. That is the fun of owning a house. I just don't know how I am going to afford all of this yet.

Good ride/ Bad ride

Last week Chanda and I went to New Mexico to do a secion of Alien Run. This is a really fun trail with rollers and slick rock drop-offs. I included a photo of me dropping a tough section of the trail (hard to tell it is tough from the angle of the shot).

The bad ride began today. I took Cooper out for a 4 mile ride out the Sail Barn area to Cowboy trail. I turned around to check on him and he was frothing over at the mouth. I gave him a whole lot of water and let him cool off under a shaded tree for a while.

I started back up and looked back at him and he kind of staggered; then collapsed! I was freaking out! I thought my dog just died. I ran back to him and held him for 30 minutes while running water over his tongue and back. I waited with him, then walked out at his pace back to the truck. He was dazed and could only slightly move. We had to hike the 4 miles back to the truck.

Once back, he threw up everything he ate for the last week; I mean everything. He pretty much filled the back of my truck with bile. I called the vet and they told me that he was a little dehydrated, as well as he over ate (He got out of the yard this morning and probably ate most of the neighbor's dog food). He is fine now, just a little tired and dazed from the whole day.

I was scared...but now I know he is alright...just no more rides with me for a while...

FRIDAY NIGHT OFF?

Kinda feels weird to have a Friday night off. Summer is around the corner and that means: TOURISTS. Everyone is on overtime. Durango is a a complete influx of people out to spend money.

Durango seems to have the persona of the wild west town. The unfortunate aspect is that most people perceive this as excessive drinking and recklessness. People rage down the Main Street strip on their Harley bikes or dually Desiel trucks trying to get attention. To me, a person who observes the same corner every night. It is a reminder of how self concerning most people are.

OK, I don't want to sound negative so I won't continue. It looks like Chanda and I are going to have a house soon. Call me for details.
